Overview

Agiassos is a small beach on the south coast of Naxos, the southernmost spot on the island. This isolated spot faces south and receives the Meltemi after it wraps around the southwestern tip of Naxos, arriving from NW/W cross-shore. Conditions are similar to neighboring Pyrgaki: potentially gusty wind, wild setting, and total self-sufficiency required. Agiassos is a discovery spot for advanced riders exploring southern Naxos.

Meltemi wrapping around southern Naxos, arriving from NW/W cross-shore. Conditions similar to Pyrgaki — potentially gusty. 12-20 knots, less reliable than the west coast. Requires strong Meltemi to the north to work well. Season limited to July-August.

Hazards

Very isolated spot with no rescue. Gusty wind. Rocks. Coastal current. Dangerous southward drift. Never sail alone. Experienced riders only.
