Wave Riding Vehicles (WRV) Virginia Beach

Wave Riding Vehicles, known as WRV, is a surf shop and board manufacturer at the corner of 19th Street and Cypress Avenue, in the Vibe Creative District on the Virginia Beach oceanfront. The Virginia Beach store is the brand's headquarters, with other stores in Kitty Hawk (North Carolina), Puerto Rico and Japan.

The showroom carries a wide range of new and used fiberglass and epoxy boards: longboards, shortboards, funboards and hybrids from a number of shapers (Bob Yinger, Leo Ravina, Josh Peterson, Mike Doyle, Rob Kamp and Pat Mulhern, among others), soft tops, and custom boards. The staff helps you pick the right board.

You will also find accessories (wax, leashes, deck pads, FCS and Futures fins, board bags, racks), skimboards, bodyboards, stand up paddleboards and skateboards, with a public skate park across the street. WRV repairs boards and rents surfboards, bodyboards, paddleboards and snowboards.

Since summer 2026, Jason Borte Surf School, founded in 1997 by former East Coast champion Jason Borte, has merged with WRV: 3- or 5-day surf camps (from age 7) and private lessons are now booked as WRV Surf Camps, with beginner and intermediate sessions. The shop also runs skate camps and paddle tours, and designs its own clothing line.

Summer hours: Monday to Saturday 9 am – 9 pm, Sunday 10 am – 7 pm. Winter hours: Monday to Friday 10 am – 8 pm, Saturday 9 am – 8 pm, Sunday 10 am – 7 pm. Hours change with the season.
