MAR Surf Exchange

MAR Surf Exchange (Make and Ride Surf Exchange) is a surf shop in Virginia Beach with its own board factory. The workshop and showroom share the same roof, so you can watch boards being built for East Coast conditions and aimed at everyday surfers rather than pros.

All new boards are shaped in-house, under the model names Roselyn, Foxtrot, Al Dente and Jacked Rabbit. You can also order a custom board from the head shaper after a free face-to-face appointment. The shop also sells a wide choice of used boards (it says it has the largest selection in the mid-Atlantic) and essential gear, with a large fin selection.

The shop repairs boards itself, with no middleman, typically in 7 to 10 days, with a rush service available for an extra fee. The Quiver Club is a subscription that gives unlimited rentals from a selection of 60+ boards. The factory is also open to customers who want to design and build their own board with the team's help.

Monday to Friday 10 am – 6 pm, Saturday 9 am – 1 pm, closed on Sunday (hours listed on the website).
