Bay of Life Surf School

Bay of Life presents itself as Chennai's first surf school, opened in 2011 in Kovalam on the East Coast Road (ECR). It says it has trained more than 12,000 people, including children from eight years old, and has a team certified through organisations such as NOLS and WMI (USA), SFI (India) and NIWS (Goa). The website mentions state accreditation and a Blue Flag certified beach.

The school offers surf lessons (introductory session and courses), stand up paddling, flat-water and ocean kayaking, ocean swimming and scuba diving, as well as ocean literacy workshops, day camps, school field trips and corporate team outings.
