Kite Hatteras

Kite Hatteras is Captain Ty Luckett's business at Teach's Lair Marina in Hatteras Village (Outer Banks, North Carolina). Ty offers custom kiteboarding, wakeboarding and tow-surfing lessons taught from a boat.

The kiteboarding lesson, called "The Chase", is a fully customized private lesson: riding upwind, transitions, riding powered up, jumping or advanced maneuvers, as chosen by the student. The boat takes the student to a suitable area, then follows along while the student rides, with live coaching (radio, speaker or voice), is ready for a quick pickup of the rider or gear, and serves as a place to rest.

The company also runs boat excursions around Cape Hatteras Inlet (evening cruises, snorkeling, sandbars, beach picnics), and reservations for the 2026 season are open.
