Kite Club Hatteras is a kiteboarding school based in Avon on Hatteras Island (Outer Banks, North Carolina). It teaches on Pamlico Sound, a shallow, knee-to-waist-deep body of water, with lessons leaving straight from its dock by boat or jet ski.
Instructors are IKO certified. The school offers three-hour private and semi-private lessons, a level-by-level path (kite control, getting moving, learning to ride), a three-day express course, and foil lessons: wing foil, kite foil and e-foil.
School gear includes current-year Cabrinha kites, harnesses and a wide range of boards. The club also rents shared or private rooms in its canal-front kite house in Avon, full houses for groups, and runs an online shop.
A "no wind, no pay" policy applies: if conditions are not suitable, the lesson is refunded.
