Poubelles Beach is a kitesurfing spot on the northeast coast of the Sitia peninsula in eastern Crete, not far from Tenda Bay and Kouremenos. The unflattering name doesn't reflect the wild beauty of this isolated beach facing northeast.
The Meltemi arrives channeled from NW/N, offering side-onshore to onshore conditions. A wild and uncrowded spot, ideal for riders seeking solitude and limitless sailing space.

Choppy water with waves formed by the Meltemi. Rocky and sandy bottom. Crystal clear water. Bump & jump conditions in sustained wind.

Access via dirt track. Wild parking. Road in poor condition – off-road vehicle recommended. No facilities on site.

Meltemi arrives from NW/NNW, similar to Tenda Bay. Wind is side-onshore to onshore on this northeast coast, typically 18-28 knots in summer. Windier and more exposed conditions than Kouremenos.
