Mitchell's Bay is a village on the east shore of Lake St. Clair in the Municipality of Chatham-Kent. The bay faces west with moderate fetch across the lake. Lake St. Clair is very shallow, creating ideal conditions for flat water.

Lake St. Clair, bay facing west. Very warm freshwater in summer. Extremely shallow lake — standing depth for hundreds of meters. Minimal chop, flat water conditions. Muddy to sandy bottom.
Very shallow water — watch fin and keel. Muddy bottom — avoid walking barefoot. Fishing boat traffic. Possible algae in late summer. Marshes and underwater weed beds in some areas.
