Cherry Beach is THE kitesurf spot in Toronto, located on the north shore of Lake Ontario in the Port Lands district. This iconic urban spot faces south toward the lake. It's the meeting point for Toronto's kite community. Easy access with parking, but very busy on windy days. SW wind is the most common and reliable in summer.
Lake Ontario fresh water. Flat to choppy depending on wind. Sandy bottom. Good fetch from the south across the full lake width (50+ km). Chop can be significant in sustained SW wind. Warm water in summer (18-22°C). Progressive depth.

Very crowded spot — many kitesurfers, swimmers, walkers and cyclists. Marine traffic in Toronto harbour (ferries, recreational boats). Breakwaters and jetties nearby. Lake Ontario can create unpredictable currents. Variable water quality after rain. Lake partially freezes in winter.
