Overview

Capo Mannu is the legendary wave and kitesurf spot on the Sinis Peninsula, considered one of the best wave spots in the entire Mediterranean. The cape receives the full force of the Maestrale (northwest) with no obstacles across hundreds of kilometres of open sea, generating powerful and well-formed waves. Used for international wave competitions, it demands solid wave riding skills and excellent kite control. The raw, wild landscape of the Sinis Peninsula and the extraordinary quality of the waves make this a bucket-list destination for advanced kiters.

Parking at the Capo Mannu lighthouse area, accessible from Cabras via the SP6. No facilities on site. Services in Cabras or San Salvatore (~20km). Go with a buddy — remote and exposed location.

Hazards

Expert-only spot — massive Maestrale with no shelter, powerful waves, offshore wind risk on some angles. Rocky entry. No rescue service. Never ride alone. Check forecasts carefully before committing.
