La Grande-Motte — TPO (Terre-Plein Ouest) — facing the Nautical Center, Couchant beach (beach access no. 14-15). Iconic wave spot of the Aigues-Mortes bay, well known to all Hérault residents. A seaside resort with its distinctive architecture (pyramids), the TPO welcomes a crowd of watersport enthusiasts with every SE Marin wind. In SE, the spot can become a formidable wave spot! As soon as the wind blows or depressions pass offshore, waves rise to the delight of riders. Kite channel managed by the Objectif Kiteloop association (green flag = open). Reserved for autonomous and confirmed kitesurfers. Natura 2000 zone.
The season runs from April to August, peaking in July: 28 rideable days a month and 272 hours of usable wind, at 26 °C. The low point is December, at 15.3 days.

Objectif Kiteloop: reference association of La Grande-Motte, manages the TPO kite channel. Channel opening/closing at the sole initiative of an association representative (green flag = open). Summer period June 1 – August 30 — objectifkiteloop.fr. Centre Nautique de La Grande-Motte: sailing, catamaran, windsurf — near the spot. FFVL certified spot. Natura 2000 zone.
Access: La Grande-Motte (34), Couchant beach, beach access no. 14-15. FREE parking at the Terre-Plein Ouest, technical zone next to parking (1 min walk). Preparation/launch/landing zone on sand, delimited by flags/banners/markers. Reserved exclusively for kitesurfers — swimming and all other water activities (windsurf, SUP, jet-ski) prohibited in the channel. Summer period (June 1 – August 30): channel opened/closed by Objectif Kiteloop. Opening conditions: SE force 5 minimum (17 knots) + green flag. Off-season: free spot, direct access. In SW: 12-20 knots, beautiful conditions. In S/SE: can reach 30+ knots with waves.

FREE parking at the Terre-Plein Ouest — directly next to the technical zone (1 min walk). One of the rare spots in the region with free parking in immediate proximity. Access: La Grande-Motte, Couchant beach, beach access no. 14-15, near the Nautical Center.
Marin SE: THE reference wind — onshore, formidable wave spot! Can reach 30+ knots. Channel opened by Objectif Kiteloop (green flag) from 17 knots SE. SW thermal: 12-20 knots, calmer conditions. Beautiful freeride sessions. S: works well, onshore. E/ENE: also works, slightly cross-onshore. In strong SE (>30 knots): choppy and messy water — demanding conditions. Frequent rain. NW/N: offshore — do not sail. Go to the lagoon spots. Best period: spring and autumn (more wind). Summer can be light on wind — plan for at least a 12m kite.
Regulated channel: access beyond 300m ONLY in SE force 5 minimum (17+ knots) AND in the presence of the green flag from the Objectif Kiteloop association. No teaching in the channel. Beach not huge, bordered by beach bars — limited space, be very careful at launch/landing. Left side of channel: jetty with fishermen. Right side: swimming zone. Downwind of technical zone: building (private beach) creating wind shadow. In strong SE (>30 knots): choppy and messy water, frequent rain. High attendance: windsurfers + kiters, go 100m downwind to find space. Maximum 50 kites on the water.
