Seven Winds is a mobile wingfoil and windsurf school opened in April 2025 by Vincent Gratadour, an instructor holding the French state diploma BPJEPS in multi-craft sailing. Based in Pérols, near Montpellier, it has no fixed centre: the venue of each lesson is chosen according to the wind direction and the students' level and goals, then confirmed the day before on WhatsApp. Students meet the instructor directly at the spot and need their own transport.
Three stretches of water are used: the Étang du Ponant, between La Grande-Motte and Le Grau-du-Roi, suited to beginners in tramontane, onshore south-easterly or summer thermal winds; Plage Sud at Port-Camargue, a small bay sheltered by a breakwater, used mainly in mistral; and the Étang d'Ingril at Frontignan, shallow almost everywhere, where the tramontane often blows harder.
Groups are limited to four students. Each session starts with a briefing, including wing handling on the beach for wing beginners, and ends with a debrief; the instructor coaches from the shore by two-way radio or rides alongside the students. Equipment is provided (mostly F-One for wingfoil, wetsuit, helmet and impact vest). On windless days the school offers towed foiling on the Étang du Ponant, and it rents equipment to its students and to independent riders. Lessons are given in French and English, from age 12 and 40 kg (from age 7 after discussion with the instructor); students must be able to swim.
