Surfis Camp is a surf camp and artist's guest house set in a former farm at the centre of the Dakhla peninsula, fifteen minutes from the airport. The place is a green oasis of old trees run by Farid, Romano and Karima: five rooms and bungalows of 15 to 30 m² with private bathrooms, Berber lounges and terraces, Farid's art studio and gallery open to guests, and Karima's Moroccan cooking — breakfast, a lunchtime tagine and a three-course dinner, all made on site.
The camp does not sell lessons under its own name, but the watersports side is organised end to end: partner schools collect guests directly at the camp and drive them, gear included, to the spot that suits their level — for kitesurfing, wingfoiling and land yachting alike. Romano, an instructor since 2008, goes along on kite sessions and runs the land-yachting himself on the dunes. The house lists eight spots three to sixty minutes away: West Point at 3-5 min, the Dakhla Lagoon at 20 min (flat water, rescue boats, ideal for beginners), Speed Spot, La Sarga, Secret Spot, Gold Point, the White Dune and Aarich.
No public transport reaches the camp and town taxis will not drive up to it, so Surfis Camp arranges the private airport transfer and works with a local car-rental partner, Baie Car. The last 250 metres run on an unpaved track; the camp is lit at night. Free wifi throughout, free parking, naturally sulphurous water, flexible check-in, vegetarian and vegan cooking on request. Bookings go through Booking.com, transfers and questions through WhatsApp.
Room rates are not published on the site: the camp points to Booking.com for availability and prices. The extras are listed:
No priced kitesurf or surf package is published: lessons are billed by the partner schools, which the camp does not name. Prices checked on 6 October 2026, with no validity date shown.
The camp publishes no opening hours. Check-in is described as flexible; the three-course dinner must be ordered before 11 a.m. on the day, and the lunchtime tagine a day ahead.
Season as the camp publishes it: Dakhla rides all year round, with over 330 windy days, and the most reliable stretch runs April to September (25 to 35 knots in summer; slightly lighter but steadier wind in winter). Recommended wetsuit: shorty or 3/2 mm from May to October, 3/2 or 5/4 mm from November to April.
