Octopus Glisse

Octopus Glisse is a surf and stand up paddle school created in 2007 by Caroline Angibaud and Mathieu Babarit, both surf instructors and managers. It is based at Les Granges beach, between Olonne-sur-Mer and Brem-sur-Mer, north of Les Sables-d'Olonne, at the edge of the Olonne forest, and holds the French Surf School label.

Lessons cover surfing, bodyboarding, longboarding, waveski (including tandem) and stand up paddle, for all levels: mini-shrimp (ages 4-6), shrimp (7-10), teens and adults, family, private lessons, seniors (65+), supervised SUP tours on calm water, groups, works councils and stag and hen parties. The school also rents boards (surf, longboard, malibu, shortboard, bodyboard), waveskis, SUPs, wetsuits and accessories, and offers accommodation, the Octo Houses, as well as gift vouchers.

The team is made up of experienced state-qualified instructors. The beach is supervised by lifeguards from 12 pm to 7 pm in summer, and free parking is nearby.

July, August, All Saints and Easter holidays: 7 days a week. From 1 April to 11 November outside holidays: Wednesday to Sunday. No lessons or rentals during Christmas holidays and in February.
