Ohana Surf - Foil

Ohana Surf is a surf and surf-foil school on the Vendée coast, based at the Sauveterre beach (Olonne-sur-Mer, Les Sables-d'Olonne), north of the car park near the lifeguard post. The school is itinerant and also uses the plage des Sables or the Baie des Sables depending on tides and conditions. It holds the "École de Glisse Vendéenne" label.

Surf lessons are open from age 6: 1.5-hour group lessons (maximum 8 people, groups formed by age and level), a 1-hour "Jardin des vagues" for ages 6-9, private lessons for one or two people, weekend courses, and a 10-session card outside school holidays. A logbook tracks progress, with a "surf passport" given at the end of a course.

Surf foiling is offered from age 10: first flights towed behind a boat from Port Olona, then with a handle, then in the waves. Lessons include equipment, wetsuit and liability insurance; rental is also available (O'Neill wetsuits).

Instructors hold the state surf diploma and up-to-date first-aid qualifications. The school states it is open all year, with hours varying according to the tides.
