Accrokite

Accrokite is a kitesurfing and wingfoiling school founded in 2003 in La Palmyre, in the Bonne Anse bay, about fifteen minutes from Royan. It is affiliated with the IKO (International Kiteboarding Organization), has been an IKO instructor training centre for about ten years and trains BPJEPS instructors for air-towed sports. Kitesurf lessons run in three three-hour stages (discovery, intermediate, independent) at €150 each, from handling the kite to the first waterstarts and runs. Wingfoil is taught in three levels (discovery, intermediate, independent); a foil simulator developed since the 2023 season lets students experience their first flights, at €35 for 30 minutes. The school rents equipment, sells used kites and has a sail loft that repairs kites within 24 hours.

Safety relies on two boats and a jet ski providing constant supervision, and on helmets fitted with walkie-talkies so instructors can coach students in real time. Depending on wind and tide, lessons may also take place on the sandbank at the Cordouan lighthouse, twenty minutes away by boat. Instructors are state-qualified.
