Gold Coast École de surf

Gold Coast is a surf school in Hendaye that describes itself as the oldest watersports business in the town, active since 1982. It is located at 71 boulevard de la Mer, on Hendaye beach, and also has a school in Saint-Jean-de-Luz. It is labelled by the French Surfing Federation.

The offer includes "Pioupiou" lessons for ages 5 to 7 (1.5 hours including 1 hour in the water, groups of 4 to 6 children), group lessons from age 7 (2 hours including 1.5 hours in the water, single or in 3- or 5-lesson courses), private lessons for 1 to 4 people (1.5 hours including 1 hour in the water), family courses from 4 people and a weekend course of two 2-hour sessions. The website states levels from beginner to advanced. The school rents surfboards, bodyboards and stand up paddles, runs a shop (swimwear, T-shirts, wetsuits, boards, leashes, wax) and offers changing rooms and showers, private events (birthdays, stag and hen parties, works councils), school groups and surf camps in Taghazout, Morocco.

The instructors, Aymerick, Samir and Romain, are presented as state-qualified, holding an up-to-date professional card and the team first-aid diploma (PSE). A suitable board, a neoprene wetsuit and a safety lycra are provided for lessons. The school is open all year: every day in high season, during school holidays in low season.
