Onaka École de surf d'Hendaye

Onaka is a surf school in Hendaye that teaches on the town's main beach, a flat-bottomed sandy beach with gentle waves. It is labelled French Surf School (Comfort label) by the French Surfing Federation, and its website offers a 2026 registration form.

Group lessons last 1.5 hours and are for adults and children from age 7, beginners or intermediate, with a maximum of 8 people per instructor; private lessons, lasting one hour, take 1 to 4 people of any age and level. Instructors are state-qualified, and equipment and insurance are included in the prices. The school also rents equipment and runs a shop selling boards, wetsuits, skateboards and surf and streetwear clothing, including NSP boards.

The business is open every day: from 9 am to 8.30 pm during school holidays and from 10 am to 7 pm the rest of the year.
