Alaia Surf Club

Alaia Surf Club is a surf school based on Ilbarritz beach in Bidart, right next to Biarritz. Lessons and courses are open to children and adults, beginners or experienced surfers, and are adapted to each person's level, sea conditions and tides.

Instruction is led by Mathieu, who holds the French state surf instructor diploma (1st and 2nd degree), is a former lifeguard and high-level coach, and has more than 25 years of experience. Several lesson and course formats are offered; details are given on the school's website.

The school is labelled École Française de Surf by the French Surfing Federation and also holds the Association Nationale Handi Surf label for adapted surfing. Equipment used during lessons is adapted to each student.
