École du Surf Français Biarritz (Eric Garry)

The École du Surf Français Biarritz Pays Basque, run by Eric Garry, has existed since 1994 on the Basque coast. It is based at 6 allée de l'Orée du Lac in Biarritz and holds its lessons at the town's spots, with touring surf trips to Bidart, Guéthary, Saint-Jean-de-Luz and Hendaye, picking the best tide windows.

The offer includes group lessons for ages 7 to 77 (maximum eight students per instructor), private lessons in mini-groups of 3 to 6, private lessons solo or for two, stand-up paddle outings and courses combining surf and golf on the Ilbarritz course. Lessons are led by state-qualified instructors, with free loan of boards, wetsuits and rash vests, and free photos.

The school also offers surf camps with accommodation in Biarritz (villa, hotels, residences) and Bidart (lodge tents, mobile homes), as well as stag parties on quotation. Its website publishes news from May to July 2026.
