Alternative Surf School

Alternative Surf School was founded in 2014 by Vincent Guelfi, a local surfer and former European-level competitor in surf and longboard. It is based at the Estacade beach (south beach) in Vieux-Boucau, Résidence de la Plage, rue des Goélands, with changing rooms, showers, toilets, a relaxation area and parking. Registration is also available in the town centre, opposite the tourist office, and at Surf Avenue Surf Shop. It has been labelled French Surfing School (École Française de Surf) since 2014.

The offer ranges from the Jardin des Vagues (children aged 6 to 10) to introduction, improvement and customised private lessons, in groups of 6 to 8 at most, plus stag and hen formulas, birthdays, "surf boxes" and coaching with video analysis. Equipment (board, wetsuit) is lent during lessons and a rental section is presented.

Vincent has held the state diploma since 1999 and the Federal Coach Certificate; Rémi holds the state surf diploma and Enzo is a lifeguard swimmer with a STAPS degree. The website cites Kauli Vaast and Clémence Schorsch among the surfers coached by Vincent.
