Sunrise Surf School

Sunrise Surf School teaches surfing on Jacó's south beach, in front of Hotel South Beach, on Costa Rica's Pacific coast. It is run by Esteban, owner and instructor, with a team of local and international instructors.

It offers lessons for beginners, intermediate and advanced surfers, in groups, private or for kids. Higher-level coaching covers paddling, positioning in the lineup, turns and reading the ocean, with video analysis. A beginner lesson starts with a land session (foot position, balance, arms) before heading into the water.

The school has a wide choice of surfboards and also rents equipment by the hour, day or week. Instructors are trained as water safety specialists.

Open every day, 6 am to 5 pm.
