Carton Surfboards, kitesurf craftsman in Jacó

Carton Surfboards is a surfboard-shaping workshop in Jacó, on Costa Rica's central Pacific coast. Edwin "Carton" Villalobos and his team have been building surfboards since 1990, designed for the country's waves.

The range includes many models: the Mad Dog (a 70s-style shortboard), the Magic Ride (a foamy, curvy outline between shortboard and fish), the 014 (a performance board), the Gato Volador, the Capitan 15, plus funboards and retro fish.

The Jacó shop sells boards (card or cash) and rents them; glassing is done by the Morris Glass workshop, also in Jacó.
