Tortuga Surf Camp runs surf and paddle board lessons and retreats on Jacó beach, on Costa Rica's Pacific coast. The camp has been running since 2007 and welcomes all levels, from complete beginners to surfers looking to progress.
Surf lessons last 2 hours and are offered as private, semi-private or group sessions, with a focus on water safety and surf etiquette. Class times vary with the daily tides. Children under 12 must take a private lesson.
The camp also runs surf retreats with board use included, photo and video for technical review, apnea workshops, airport transfers, yoga and social events, plus beachfront lodging. On the paddle side, it offers a sunrise tour and coaching with a national paddle boarding champion.
