Eoletto Kite Center is a kitesurf and windsurf school in Mayapo, near Riohacha, in La Guajira. Founded in 1995 by Etto, a German trained as a teacher in Bremen who also took VDWS courses, and Paula, from Bogotá, it claims more than 15,000 students taught since its beginnings on the Sisga dam, before settling in Mayapo.
The instructors are bilingual and follow IKO safety standards. The spot has steady wind of 18 to 22 knots from December to September, a sheltered shallow lagoon and open sea with moderate waves. Lesson equipment (kite, bar, board, helmet, vest) is included, along with a shuttle between the beach and the lagoon when the wind is offshore.
The school offers kitesurf lessons (1 to 12 hours, private or for couples), windsurf lessons for beginners and advanced riders (waterstart, planing, harness, beach start), equipment rental and kite trips in the region.
