Kitesurfing Colombia

Kitesurfing Colombia is a kitesurf school in Santa Verónica, on the Caribbean coast between Barranquilla and Cartagena de Indias. It was founded in 2019 by Gigi, a French IKO level 2 instructor since 2014 and a former instructor in Tarifa, who discovered the spot in 2015. Lessons are given in French, Spanish, English and German.

Teaching follows a full progression: beach theory (wind, wind window, kite safety systems), kite control on land or in shallow water, body drag, body drag with the board, then waterstart. The school says it aims to train riders who are independent and safe for themselves and others. It also offers wing foil lessons, kitesurf and wing foil equipment rental, supervision and downwinders.

The trade winds blow almost daily in winter, from December to April, with both wave and flat-water spots and a side-onshore direction that always brings riders back to the coast.
