Sahara Kite School

Sahara Kite School is a small French-Moroccan kitesurfing and wingfoiling school in Dakhla, run by a couple of enthusiasts, Margaux and Khalid, both IKO-certified instructors (level 1 and level 2). Groups are deliberately kept small: two students per instructor at most in semi-private lessons, one in private lessons.

The school takes every level, from the first kite handling on the sand to advanced coaching, on the lagoon for its flat, shallow water as well as on the ocean side. The price includes return transport from your hotel to the spots by 4×4, the wetsuit, the impact vest, the helmet and the loan of kite or wing equipment; a session usually lasts two hours. The school also offers supervised riding for newly independent riders, equipment rental, and help arranging accommodation and the rest of the trip.

Off the water, it runs an excursion to the White Dune with a go at sandboarding, lunch at the town's fish and lobster restaurant, and a sunset drink on the spot. Third-party liability insurance is required to take lessons.

Opening hours: Monday to Sunday, 8 am to 8 pm.

Season: the school is open all year round. The high season, driven by the trade wind, runs from March to October, with more than 90% of days windy at 20 to 35 knots. From October to March, the "mild season" brings lighter wind, 15 to 22 knots, well suited to learning to wingfoil, along with winter swells on the ocean side.
