School Presentation
Wellington Surf Lessons is a family-owned surf school founded by local surfers Stuart and Lisa, running for more than eight years. It is based at Lyall Bay and goes mobile to follow the conditions: Titahi Bay, the Kapiti Coast (Paekakariki and Otaki) and Castlepoint in the Wairarapa.
Classes suit beginners through to advanced surfers: group lessons, private lessons, women's and kids' programmes, holiday camps, a schools safe-surfing programme, team-building sessions and surfskate training. All equipment is provided and hire is available.
Instructors are trained through Surfing New Zealand, whose courses are accredited by the International Surfing Association (ISA). The school picks each lesson's beach according to swell and weather and notifies students through its own app. It also runs a shop selling surfboards, wetsuits and surfskates.
