Tofino Paddle Surf

Tofino Paddle Surf is a small, local company set right on Tin Wis Beach, on the lands and waters of the Tla-o-qui-aht Nation, a few minutes from Tofino's best-known surf beaches. It has been renting gear and teaching since 2009.

Surfing is taught in private 2.5-hour lessons for all ages and levels, from first-timers to advanced surfers: each lesson is tailored to the student, without the chaos of big groups. The beach shop rents surfboards, bodyboards and skimboards, as well as paddleboards and kayaks, by the day or for several days with multi-day discounts.

Stand-up paddle rounds out the offer, with lessons and guided outings: a Tin Wis Beach tour, a west coast tour, flatwater lessons, a sunset paddle and a SUP surf lesson. Guides share their local knowledge and every rental comes with a safety briefing.

Fall hours: 10am to 5pm. Online surfboard reservations must be made at least two days ahead; for same-day gear, stop by the shop.
