Overview

Long Beach is part of the Pacific Rim National Park, between Tofino and Ucluelet, on the west coast of Vancouver Island. This immense 16 km sandy beach faces west and receives direct Pacific swells. It's Canada's most iconic surf spot with consistent waves. Spectacular wild scenery between ocean and rainforest.

Powerful Pacific ocean waves. Sandy bottom throughout. Constant W to NW swell. Waves range from 1 to 4m depending on season and swell. Powerful shore break. Very cold water (7-12°C). Frequent rip currents along the beach.

National park — regulations to follow, kitesurfing may be restricted on some sections. Very cold water (5/4 wetsuit mandatory). Black bears possible on the beach. Remote from rescue services.
