Base Nautique de l'Ouest (BNO)

The Base Nautique de l'Ouest (BNO) is a non-profit association based on the bay of Saint-Gilles-les-Bains, in Saint-Paul. It is certified as a sailing school (French Sailing Federation) and a kayak school (FFCK), and aims to introduce everyone to the water.

All year round it offers school sailing, lessons, training and holiday courses for children, teenagers and adults. The programme covers sailing, kayaking, windsurfing (sessions at Trou d'Eau or in the Saint-Gilles bay) and wing foiling, with private lessons and rentals. It also runs kayak outings in the bay and whale-watching trips.

Coaching is provided by state-qualified professionals. The club takes part in competitions such as the Reunion Cup and Championship.
