Essaouira Gliss City

Essaouira Gliss City — EGC — is a sports association founded in 2001 that took over from UCPA-Maroc on Essaouira's central beach. It occupies the former sailing school building on avenue Mohammed V and teaches surfing, kitesurfing and wingfoiling at all levels.

Beyond lessons, EGC presents itself as an educational and social project: training for sports-sector jobs and professional integration for young people, access to the water for everyone, prevention and cohesion through sport, and solidarity exchange projects between Morocco and France. The association won the Clean Beaches Initiative Trophy — Blue Flag 2008, awarded by the Mohammed VI Foundation.

Lessons are booked online by the hour, in a group, semi-private or one-to-one, and surf, kitesurf and wingfoil equipment is rented by the session, half day, full day or two days. EGC also runs courses, youth camps and sports holidays, and offers a "Kite & Stay" package with the neighbouring Hotel Miramar on the seafront. The equipment partners shown on the site are Mystic, AFS, Kazade and ElevatePro.

The website publishes neither opening hours nor a season. Lessons and rentals are booked online by time slot, from one hour up to twenty-four hours depending on the activity.
