Windsurf Inc. / South Padre Kiteboarding is a kiteboarding and windsurfing center on the Laguna Madre in South Padre Island, Texas. You can launch straight from the shop. It is run by Phillip Money, a former U.S. production board speed record holder, and has been on the island since the 1980s.
Windsurfing and kiteboarding lessons are offered for beginners, intermediate and advanced riders. Instructors are PASA certified, and kite lessons use boat support and radio helmets. Surfing lessons are also available.
The shop sells and rents gear: Bic, JP and Exocet windsurf boards, Neil Pryde, Ezzy and Aerotech sails, Cabrinha kites, and Cabrinha and Litewave kiteboards. Rentals also cover kayaks, surfboards and stand up paddleboards, by the half hour when the wind drops.
The Laguna Madre offers a wide stretch of shallow water, ideal for learning. The jetties on the Gulf side are the reference spot for waves and jumping; in light wind the team points riders to Holly Beach in Laguna Vista.
