School Presentation
South Padre Surf Company is a surf school on South Padre Island, Texas, run by Gene Gore, an experienced surfer and ocean lifeguard, with his surf dog Astro. Lessons run year-round at Isla Blanca Beach Park by the jetty, where the best waves in the Gulf of Mexico break.
Lessons usually last one hour and suit all ages, from toddlers to people in their seventies. They take place in shallow water over a sandy bottom, so swimming skills are not required. Soft-top boards are included. Private lessons are available, and the school offers free sessions for people with special needs.
The school also rents soft-top boards by the day, with delivery available. It is a surf school and rental service, not a retail store.
