Yougi Kiteboarding

Yougi Kiteboarding is a small kitesurfing school in Dakhla, advertised at kilometre 25 of the lagoon road. It is run by Yassine, Dakhla-born and French-speaking, and it is the only school in town attached to the French-language One Launch Kiteboarding network, which hand-picks its partners abroad.

Teaching follows a four-stage progression, each with its own page on the site: theory and kite flying for beginners, then body dragging, waterstart and first runs, before improvement work — transitions, toeside and beyond. The school works mostly as roaming coaching: the instructor has a vehicle and takes riders, according to their level, the tide and the wind direction, to the lagoon and its hidden corners, to the Speed Spot — billiard-flat in an offshore wind — to the White Dune for a downwinder, or to Lassarga for Atlantic swell.

The school offers no accommodation of its own: it points riders to partner places, in town or on the lagoon. It also runs a non-profit project introducing the children of Dakhla to kitesurfing.
