Bota is a windsurf, kayak, paddleboard and bike centre that has been operating on the island of Hvar since 2004 according to its website. The Vrboska centre is 1.5 km from the village centre, near Soline beach; it offers windsurf courses, equipment rental and storage, and kayak and SUP rental. Since 2020 Bota also runs a base in Stari Grad, in front of the Valamar hotels: windsurf rental and storage, kayak, SUP, bike and wingfoil rental, and bike tours.
The website describes a stable summer wind (tarmuntana and mistral) that builds through the day: beginner courses in the morning between 10 am and 1 pm, advanced classes in the afternoon. The 2-hour "Try it" course includes theory on a simulator followed by practice at sea; private lessons are available. Rental equipment includes Gaastra sails, Tabou boards and Dakine accessories, in beginner, school and fun categories.
