Stagnone Kitesurf

Stagnone Kitesurf is a kitesurf school based in Marsala, in the heart of the Lo Stagnone lagoon nature reserve on Sicily's west coast. It is run by Carmelo Alessi (Stagnone Kitesurf ASD), who holds both IKO and FIV instructor certifications, helped by other qualified instructors and shore-side "beach boys".

All kitesurf lessons are one-to-one: one student, one kite, one instructor, following the IKO and FIV method. The taster lesson lasts 1.5 hours (30 minutes of theory, 1 hour of practice) and the basic course 6 hours (1 hour of theory, 5 hours on the water, usually over 2 or 3 sessions). The school also offers intermediate and advanced lessons, as well as windsurf, wing foil, surf and SUP lessons.

On site there is a Kite Bar kiosk with showers, toilets (including accessible ones), parking and the largest kite area of the lagoon. The school rents equipment (supervised rental with assistance for kiters who are not yet independent, free rental for IKO level 3 kiters), accepts gear shipped from home, runs kite camps and helps find accommodation near the spot, with an airport shuttle on request from Sicilian airports. A photo and video service is available as an option. It also works with North Kiteboarding and Slingshot.

Open during the windy season (generally spring to autumn); times are agreed when booking with the school.
