Sicily Kite Academy (SKA) is a kitesurf school in the heart of the Lo Stagnone lagoon in Marsala (Contrada Birgi Vecchi). It says it has been teaching and renting equipment on this spot since 2005; the manager, Marco, is praised in many reviews for his teaching, and the team is made up of IKO-certified instructors.
The basic course is split into four modules: theory (30 min), first kite flying (2 h), body drag (1.5 h) and board starts (2 h). It is taken as a private or semi-private lesson (two students per instructor), with pair formulas. The school also offers intermediate courses (body drag, waterstart, upwind riding, first jumps) and hourly lessons; instructors follow students by helmet radio.
The centre has a large space for rigging the kite, showers and a shaded area; it also offers equipment rental, kite camps and bed and breakfast accommodation.
