Club Nautique Canet Perpignan (CNCP) is a non-profit association founded in 1948 as Club Nautique de Canet-Plage, making it one of the oldest sailing clubs in the Pyrénées-Orientales. Affiliated to the French Sailing Federation (FFVoile), approved by the French sports ministry and holding the École Française de Voile label, it runs the sailing base in the technical area of Canet-en-Roussillon harbour, at the foot of the north breakwater (reception, classroom, changing rooms, showers, dinghy park). Instructors hold the state diploma (BPJEPS) or the CQP qualification.
Since summer 2026, the club has run wingfoil courses for young people from age 10 and adults alike, from complete beginners to riders aiming for their first flights. Learning starts on a large, stable board with the wing in hand, then moves on to the foil depending on progress, following the FFVoile wingfoil progression card. A state-qualified instructor supervises a small group in a dedicated area; wing, board, foil, wetsuit and buoyancy vest are provided. Windsurfing is taught from age 8, at beginner or improver level. Wing and windsurf sessions take place at the club's beach point, on the beach south of the harbour, opposite the Oniria aquarium and next to lifeguard station no. 2; a shuttle boat crosses the harbour from the base.
The rest of the club's activity is dinghy sailing: 'moussaillon', Optimist and catamaran courses during the holidays, a year-round sports school and racing squads (Optimist, ILCA), instructor training (CQP) and national regattas.
