CBCM Kitesurf & Boardsports School

School Presentation

CBCM Kitesurf & Boardsports School is the school of the CBCM Boarder Club, set up in 2003 by Laurent Mora, a French state-qualified sailing (BEES) and kitesurfing (BPJEPS) instructor and former judge on the PKRA kitesurfing world tour. It holds the FFVL École Française de Kite label (no. 28998). Its base is in northern Saint-Cyprien, in the Port Cipriano residence, facing the kite zone of the beach that runs towards Canet-en-Roussillon. In summer the school also meets students at Leucate – La Franqui (Aude), at the "Le Bleu" beach bar, 19 avenue de la Méditerranée, on the Mondial du Vent spot: it is the same business, with the same phone number, email and label. Sessions are also held in Collioure depending on conditions.

For kitesurfing, the beginner course leads to independent riding in five 3-hour sessions (beach flying, body drag, waterstart, first runs), with no more than four students per instructor, a radio in the helmet and, for some sessions, open-water coaching from the safety boat. Intermediate and advanced lessons (transitions, staying upwind, jumps, strapless), private lessons and rental with supervised riding follow. The school is an Airush centre. Wingfoiling follows the same five-session approach on Starboard / Freewing equipment, in groups or private lessons. The school also teaches windsurfing from beginner to advanced level, and stand up paddle (discovery, yoga, excursions).

When there is no wind, CBCM offers boat-towed board sessions; it also runs wakeboarding, a sailing cruise school and trips abroad. The "CBCM Private Club" promoted on the website is a membership scheme (a member card giving discounts and travel services), not a members' association.
