Vilamoura Surf School

Vilamoura Surf School (also called Vilamoura Surf Project) presents itself as the first surf school on Vilamoura beach, founded in 2006. It is based at the Centro Internacional da Marina de Vilamoura on Avenida da Rocha Baixinha, and teaches in particular at Falesia beach on the Algarve's south coast, which the school describes as sandy beaches without rip currents.

The school is certified by the Portuguese Surfing Federation (FPS) and by Turismo de Portugal; its heads are qualified and FPS-accredited. It offers group and private surf and stand up paddle lessons, as well as longboard, bodyboard, skimming and carver skate sessions. Packs of 3 lessons, surf safaris and trips, a surf camp, and activities for adults, children and local residents are also listed.

The premises let students change, store their belongings and take a hot shower after the lesson. Equipment (softboards, modern wetsuits) is provided, and boards and wetsuits can also be rented by anyone. The school says it is open every day of the year, with hours varying with the tides and sea conditions. It works with the CIMAV club for the club's surf school.
