Northwind Somo

Northwind Watersports is a water sports school based in Somo, Cantabria, facing the natural dunes of the beach and the bay of Santander. It has been teaching since 2004 and presents itself as a pioneer of kitesurfing instruction on the Cantabrian coast, with an area of the beach reserved for learners.

The school teaches surfing, kitesurfing, stand-up paddle, windsurfing and wingfoiling. Lessons take place at Somo, at Pedreña (windsurfing and wingfoiling) and on the Ebro reservoir (kitesurfing). Groups are small, with changing rooms and showers; board, sail or wing and wetsuit are provided.

Northwind also rents surf, windsurf, kitesurf, paddle and wingfoil equipment, and runs a shop with new, demo and second-hand technical gear (including Duotone), plus clothing and accessories. It also organises events such as a wingfoil festival in Cantabria.
