School Presentation
Is Benas Surf Club is a sports association and surf school based in Putzu Idu, on the Sinis peninsula, in the municipality of San Vero Milis. Founded in 1997, it presents itself as Italy's first surf school; it is recognised by the Italian surfing federation (FISSW), registered with CONI, and its instructors follow ISA standards.
The school works from S'Arena Scoada beach, close to the Capo Mannu, Mini Capo and Putzu Idu surf spots, in the Sinis marine park area. Surf lessons, from beginner to advanced level, last two hours and run as two daily sessions (morning and afternoon); they include a warm-up, a safety briefing and wave progression, with a maximum of six students per instructor. The school provides the technical equipment.
The offer includes surf stages of 2 to 10 lessons, weekly surf camps, longboard camps, an introductory stand up paddle (SUP) course including wave SUP, a kids' surf school, yoga for surfers and university stages. The staff includes several surf coaches, a kitesurf coach and a yoga teacher; the club also fields a competition team and organises events around Capo Mannu.
