ABRAKITE - Associação Brasiliense de Kitesurf

ABRAKITE (Associação Brasiliense de Kitesurf) is the kitesurfers' association of Brasília. It was founded in 2004 by the pioneers of kiting on Lake Paranoá (kitesurfing reached Brasília around 1998-1999) to defend the sport before the authorities and society.

According to its website, its efforts led to Law 5,938 of 28 July 2017, which designates the perimeter of the Península Sul Park (Península dos Ministros) as Brasília's official kitesurf kitepoint and preferred practice area. The association organises park clean-ups, sustainable-use and ecological awareness campaigns, and offers membership (online sign-up). Its site gives access to a webcam (KiteCam) and a weather station.

The site lists two accredited kitesurf instructors (Josué Victor and Gustavo Monte). The map point is the Península Sul kitepoint, shared with KiteBrasília.
