Whit Surf, kitesurf craftsman in Cow Bay

Whit Surf is the workshop of shaper Haynes Kent, based in Cow Bay on the Halifax coast of Nova Scotia. It makes custom surfboards and a clothing line, and controls most steps of production itself.

The boards are designed for Canada's cold water: thick neoprene calls for extra volume, and the models (high performance, daily driver, groveler, longboards, specialty) are tuned to the waves the customer has in mind, from a Nova Scotia point break to a Tofino beach break or a lake wave in Toronto. A consultation defines the board, and the online shop also lists ready-to-ship and used boards.
