Fahd Handmade Surfboards, kitesurf craftsman in Tamraght

Fahd Handmade Surfboards, known locally as “Fahd's Factory”, is Fahd El Mania's shaping workshop in Tamraght, 14 km north of Agadir. It sits right by the road, level with the village's only traffic light, and carries no sign — you spot it by the boards stacked outside. Fahd has been shaping by hand for over twenty years, self-taught, and works alone, from the raw foam blank to the final glass job.

The workshop builds custom surfboards. The models shown on his site are a thruster, a fish, a longboard and two in-house shapes, the Africano and the Black Memba. He also handles repairs, from a simple ding to broken rails, for travelling surfers and locals alike, across two spaces: a small unit for repairs and rentals, and a separate room kept for shaping.

Customers are welcome to walk in, watch their board being made, handle the different outlines and talk the shape through with the shaper. Next to the workshop a small shop stocks water gear and accessories only — no clothing, and he says so plainly. Fahd is one of Morocco's few reference shapers, and his workshop was still listed in 2026 among the repair addresses of the Agadir bay.

The workshop publishes no opening hours. Call ahead or drop in.
