Overview

Altura is a quiet beach town in eastern Algarve, near the Spanish border. Wide sandy beach. Works with SW thermal wind in summer and Levante (east wind) from Tarifa. Flat to small chop. Family-friendly, uncrowded. Similar conditions to nearby Monte Gordo and Manta Rota.
