Britannia Beach is THE kitesurf spot in Ottawa, located on Lac DeschĂŞnes (a widening of the Ottawa River) in west Ottawa. The spot faces northwest with good fetch on the lake. It's the meeting point for the national capital's kite community. Park with beach, lawn and facilities. W/NW wind is dominant.
Ottawa River fresh water. Flat to choppy. Sand and mud bottom. Lac Deschênes is about 3 km wide — moderate fetch. Warm water in summer (20-24°C). Light current (river). Progressive depth.
