The Kite Park on Lamèque Island is one of the most renowned kitesurfing spots on the east coast of Canada. Located in northeastern New Brunswick, between the islands of Lamèque and Miscou, this spot benefits from a vast shallow body of water protected by a long sandbar, creating one of the best kitesurfing playgrounds in Canada. The spot offers remarkable conditions: shallow water over hundreds of metres, sandy bottom, and exceptional exposure to winds from multiple directions (southeast to northwest). Summer thermal winds are consistent and reliable. Water temperature is pleasant in summer thanks to the shallow waters that warm up quickly. The region is considered a hidden gem of kitesurfing on Canada's east coast. The Club Wind & Kite in Petite-Lamèque and the Académie de cerf-volant René Jobin offer lessons and rentals. The atmosphere is friendly and the rider community is welcoming, in an authentically Acadian setting. The sailing season runs from June to September, with the best conditions from July to August. This spot suits all levels thanks to its vast shallow flat water areas, but also offers fun for experienced riders when the wind picks up.
