Overview

Hot Water Beach is a kitesurf spot located on the Coromandel Peninsula, in the Waikato region, on the North Island of New Zealand. This beach is world-famous for its hot water springs that emerge from the sand at low tide, allowing visitors to dig natural hot water pools. The spot faces east towards the Pacific Ocean. The dominant winds come from the northeast and east. The spot is suitable for intermediate to advanced kitesurfers due to exposure to ocean waves. Warning: the beach is very busy with tourists, especially around the hot springs at low tide. It is essential to maintain a safe distance from swimmers.
